Source for grip panel blanks

I'm working on a brass grip frame for my Old Model Blackhawk and would like to build a set of grip at the same time. I haven't been able to find a source for blanks (wood or otherwise). I'd also like to do a set for a 1911.

Any sources would be appreciated.

Thanks

Errr, a lumber yard or Home Depot? Walnut is easily obtainable, more exotic woods are for sale on the net.
M1911 grips are easy, since they don't wrap around or have any internal cutouts.

Herbie,

Here's a link to a Phoenix AZ site- http://www.woodworkerssource.net/

You can compare wood types, colors, hardness, suitability, etc. here.

I have big hands & got fed-up with too small grips for my 500 Magnum, so I bought some wood from these folks & made a set to fit my paw.

It took a LONG time (lots of inletting on a S&W), however, I was pleased with the result.

Good luck!
