I've been taking a lot of heat lately from WCCA volunteers for my blindered focus on raising contributions for pro-CCW candidates.
Many of these volunteers think that we can win by going to the public and explaining the virtues of concealed carry. Others think we can win over candidates for office to our side with similar arguments.
I think that's nuts.
I know, like I know my own name, that the candidates who raise the most money win.
Trouble is, I can't find the nationwide study I'm looking for.
I did find a study for Ohio for the 2004 elections. 95% of those candidates who outspent their opponents won the election.
If anyone can point me in at least a general direction to a nationwide study on the ratio of contributions to victories, I'd sure appreciate it.
We have a lot of naive people here in WI who need to be educated on the realities of politics, and right quick.
Any help is much appreciated.
