Source for 03-A3?

A friend of mine is looking to "replace" a Springfield 1903-A3 that he was supposed to inherit from his Grandfather . . . but somebody in the family sold. Anybody know of a good source to check out? Looking for a shooter rather than a collector grade rifle.

(Already aware of AuctionArms and Gunbroker.com ; thanks).

It's a secret. I could tell ya, but then I'd have to kill ya.

Hmmm. Try again. Cast your eyes upwards to the top of the page, where it sez "Links". Browse. It links to more links.

Anyway, maybe the CMP site has the info you want, among the myriads of links available...

beemerb (don't know if it's TFL member beemerb) is selling an 03a3 on auctionarms

http://www.auctionarms.com/search/displayitem.cfm?ItemNum=2097529

current price is only $305.

I just bought an all-Remington 03A3 barrelled action for $355, so I think this complete rifle is a very good deal. You may have to stay up late on Sunday to get it. DON'T BID UNTIL THE LAST TEN MINUTES! (My secret's out.)

By the way, I'm sure an interesting dicussion was had in the family when your friend found out someone had sold Granddad's WWII rifle. I'm glad I'm not him, although I also have many infuriating family members.

Art, duuhh!:o Sorry to miss the obvious; but it isn't the first time, and probably won't be the last . . .

Ledbetter, yes, he was a bit pi$$ed.

Thanks for the links, guys. I'll pass the info on (and maybe see if I can find a shooter for myself as well) :D

More EBay how-to: A buddy of mine shops there quite regularly. He will set up his bid, ready to "Send", and wait until about 20 to 30 seconds before closing. He commonly will have bid earlier, to get a feel for who's doing what in the bidding.

When he Sends and his bid shows on the screen, it's too late for anybody else to set up their bid and overbid him.

It helps to have your computer's clock coordinated with the EBay clock...
