So I finally received my 110 gr. Barnes Tac TX bullets in the mail. I wanted to make up a dummy round and see how everything chambers. I'll cut to the chase, I cannot chamber this bullet with a safe to load OAL. It just doesn't work, did I miss something? This must be the most difficult caliber/rifle I've worked with. The cone on the bullet has to be pushed well into the case neck to chamber this bullet. -CENSORED--CENSORED--CENSORED-

What do you mean by " I cannot Chamber"?

Won't feed or the bolt will not close?

I seat this bullet upper mid-cannelure(groove) so as to crimp into the groove with the Lee Factory Crimp die.

At that length I have zero issues either feeding or the bolt closing.

If I had to guess, I would say it's not your bullet or your OAL at all.

Two things come to mind.

Brass not properly Full Length sized. Does the empty cases chamber and extract with ease? Is so, then you have a seating problem.

If the seating dis is not set up correctly it is possible to distort the case neck and shoulder with the Crimp Feature built into the seating die.

How did you set up your seating die into the press.

Did you apply an adequate chamfer to the inside of the case neck?

Are you crimping?

Bolt will not close. Seating die is not setup to crimp. I'm going to head downstairs and think this thru again, I may have missed something. Empty brass is fine in and out, something I probably over looked. That's the exact bullet I purchased

I had adjusted my sizing die yesterday, long story short it's fixed. To many things going on at once and I messed up. Kind of how I started filling cases the other day and forgot primers! Lol.

When making 300blk brass from 223 cases, remember all brass is not created equal.
Some makes have varying wall thickness at the shoulder. Sense this is where 223 brass gets cut to make 300blk brass it can be a problem. Thicker shouldered 223 brass becomes thick necked 300blk brass and will not chamber.
