And take your better than expected employer annuall bonus and buy a 12" bbl .460 S&W mag revolver ! Shooting this banzi magnum has put the biggest grin on my face. Thus far all my firearms purchases have been based upon pure practicality... well that ended last week... LOL

Yup, she belts you right in the arms but all in all not as bad as I initially feared. These long barrel .460's have a lot of weight which actually lessens the felt recoil. I've shot prior a buddies 5" bbl .500 S&W mag and that was pure torture...

"Aw look at the snout on that Sheila!!"

Awesome gun, what kind of holster you getting for it??

That pic is out of the box new. The front sight blade is a clamp on style and i took the pic before i installed the sight. I'm thinking a tatci-cool thigh rig for a holster? Worst case scenario thigh rigging is dragging the muzzle in the dirt !

It looks like one of those long barreled revolvers that English law requires.
Might even be long enough to put a rifle stock on and still be legal.
Definitely an attention getter.
Enjoy.

What you need now are the Mexican Bullets from who shot Roger Rabbit. ;) I couldn't resist the 'Cartoon Gun' reference. Just so you don't think I am poo poo'ing your new purchase, I would own it and shoot it and hunt with it. I used to have an 8 3/8" S&W 41 mag that i considered my carbine.

Cool gun... not really my tastes, but cool none the less :)

BTW... on the not really needing to hit the target comment... that holds more true than you'd think... was at a local gun shop during their "shooters Round-up"... they always have a lot of factory reps, & you can shoot their guns, on the shop's range if you buy the ammo... was shooting a couple cylinders full of 500 S&W from a 6" barrel... at some knock down targets on their pistol range... kept knocking over 3-4 of the targets with every shot... the concussion of the big revolver in the tighter area of their pistol range was knocking down plates...

it's true... with those X frames you don't even need to hit the target...;)

was always curious if you could put a bi-pod on a "pistol", or if that would somehow make in AOW. I wouldn't see why, but I could see it confusing the interpretation. sweet gun, if your a hunter with some land, that's a great piece to hunt from the back porch with.
