When the thirteen colonies were still a part of England, Professor Alexander Tyler wrote about the fall of the Athenian republic over a thousand years ago:

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasure. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency back to bondage.

Our founding fathers gave us a democratic, representative REPUBLIC and not a pure democracy, that is , if we can manage to keep it and hold on to it, which I fear we are failing to accomplish.

In a pure democracy, which the USA is not, 51% of the vote rules or the greatest percentage considering the number of canidates running for a given office.

In the usa, canidates are preselected by major party primaries and supported by pac funds and other contributions from self interisted parties.

Without major party support and funding and major tv air time , not even millionaires can sucessfully be elected.

This is a far cry from what was origionally established by the founding fathers.

The US government has grabbed powers to itself far in excess of any granted to it by the US Constitution and is in fact interpeting and re interpeting the Constitution to suit itself in its continual grab for yet more powers.

We The People Pay for it all and we the people are the ones most hurt by it.

We forfiet our money, our freedom ,our liberties and our lifestyles for the benifeits of people like Klinton and Gore
to live high on the hog and high on their power trips.

To twist the Constitution to their evil ends.
To prevert the laws and the institutions of the land ending up with small resemblence to what was originally intended by our founding fathers.

And those of us who believe in the Constitution as it was originally writen
are demoninized and called right wing consperators.

Those of us who call out to other Americans saying " Look out , we are vering off course....We are slowly changing into something our founding fathers never intended."

We are called "Not Politically Correct".
We are called "conseratives".
We are called "right wing nuts".
We are called "Constitutionalists".
We are called "NRA Members"
We are called "beer guzzeling rednecks".
We are called "Gun Nuts".
Some are called "Militia Members".
We are all called "Patriots".
