Today, I got out my 460 Collarbutton mold and made a few for the .45-70
I just used 50/50 Coww/pure with 3% pewter for these. I don't need 3% for this type of pour, but that's what was in the pot from pouring some sharp edged .357s earlier, and that's what size the little pewter mug was, and I was too lazy to cut it up. I tried to keep the pot close to 700-730 for these. It's pretty tough to keep adjusting that little knob when juggling a thermometer, a ladle, and a hot 4cav mold.

And the product.... I think it makes a pretty nifty bullet. I may try sizing some down for the .45LC as well.
