Somebody PLEASE tell me I just made the right choice

I was watching some coverage on the Million Misguided Mothers, and decided my best course of action was to buy a new pistol... So I went to my favorite gun shop and was looking through their selection when, all of a sudden, this Kimber Custom Classic suddenly jumped out of the case and into my hand!! I was stunned... It felt great!! What else could I do but offer it a good home?!?! Of course, NICS was down (they said it was not expected to be back up until Sunday.. arrgghh..) I have never owned a 1911-style pistol before, but have always wanted one... Did I do good???

You did real good. Welcome to the 1911 club, you'll find that the 1911 will become a passion and pleasure in your life.

Robear, Since you live in Texas, get a CHL and you won't have to bother with NICS. Kimber is a great choice. We have two!

Ya done fine, lad. I have two Kiimbers and they're wonderful guns, a pleasure to shoot and a j0oy to behold. I, too, am a new 1911 user, and can attest that they're habit forming. I cruised by my lodal deaer today and saw a Custom Royale that was talking to me, saying "take me home". I resisted (for now). Congratulations on your new 'baby'

Thanks for the vote of confidence everyone... I am on pins an needles waiting to take posession of her... Mom will get roses and kisses, I will get a Kimber.. Pretty good deal all around!! I'll let you know how the first "dance" goes!!! Stay Safe!!!

You have been seduced by the 1911. Welcome to the club. Now you can trully find that JMB knew what he was doing.

Man!
You guy's make me want a 1911. My larger pistols are Glocks, but if you'll explain to my wife why I need a 1911.....well...Kimber, eh?

See, this is just what the anti's are talking about. Those nasty guns just jump up and do things all by themselves! It goes to prove that guns kill people and it has nothing to do with the dirt bag pulling the trigger. :)

The EXACT same thing happened to me today! :D A Kimber Ultra CDP just kept calling my name. I couldn't just leave it there so I gave it a loving home. Happy Day! :D :D :D :D

Take that you Million Mental Midgets :p

Robear.... I must disagree. You have shown absolutely no sensitivity to the concerns of the million moms. Have you no mother? Now you have a new gun. But all the moms will be disappointed. Myself, I am planning on throwing all my guns away this weekend for Mother's day. They are nasty.
I don't know how it took me so long to realize it. I hope they forgive me.

;)

Just let me know where you throw them, Lavan.. I'd be glad to help you rid yourself of all those nasty, dangerous weapons... Anyone care to join me??

Heard on the news tonight they're expecting one hundred thousand people to show up at the MMM.

At first I thought someone must have profound math problem but then I figured the PR person is the same dude putting out the erroneous anti stats. The proof of the pudding is in the pie...

You have made a terrible mistake. You should send the evidence of your folley to me as soon as you pick it up.

P.S. I made the same mistake with a Glock 29. hehehehhe!

With all this MMM and stuff going on, I keep thinking I should support the cause by getting another handgun (NAA .22LR). They really want to get those guns off the street and into safe hands, so I guess I'd better do my part...

I just don't undertand all the furor you people have against the MMM. I mean... I am taking MY mom to the range sunday with four different pistols. Will let her try them all before I buy her Mothers Day pistol. We MUST help our Mom's protect themselves and their children. Isn't this what the MMM is all about????? ;) ;) ;) :D

Go for it! Good choice. I have never had one, or even shot one, but from what I have heard, they are great. But, from all I know they are POS's, I should get out and shoot one soon. So go ahead.
