Some day, in a perfect world...

I guess some people just ain't happy without a yoke around their neck; that's the only reason I can figure for the continued fascination most of America has with the stifling statism packaged in your choice of Democrat or GOP flavors...

"Right to work. Right to an education. Right to housing and health care." Those aren't Rights; to borrow from PJ O'Rourke, those are "the rations of slavery; hay and a barn for human cattle"...

Too many people, even in the RKBA community, are vocally defending their own right to do as they please, while actively trying to deny others their favorite pastime. The concept of a truly free society where the price for being unhassled is to leave your neighbor alone, even if your Holy Book or your concept of morality does not agree with his practices, does not fully sink in with the majority of the citizenry. Righteous indignation about RKBA restrictions go hand in hand with applause for ludicrous "War On Some Drugs" civil rights violations.

For this reason, the Libertarians will have a tough time getting anywhere in any election. People still want BS artists in office, and the politicians on either side have figured out a long time ago that you have to follow a simple program to retain power: play the peasants out against each other by harping on inconsequential matters, and bribing them by taking away from one to pay the other.

Not a clue

Unfortunately, most folks now believe a "right" is something that is provided by some other entity; with no cost to the recipient....or, rather paid for by the sweat of others.

They neither understand the conceptual definition of a "right" nor the Constitution.
