I have yet to own a fixed blade knife. I have buying the SOG Seal series of knioves for quite some time. I'm just not sure which one to get. I'm leaning towards the Seal Pup Elite. But I'm not sure if having a serated portion would be more practicle. Also I dont hunt and rarly fish and hike. What the Hell would I use this thing for?? that being said, I would like to have one any way. Anyone reccomend one over another ?
Depends what you would use it for. I have the Seal 2000 and I don't do anything with it. It's a thick blade (.25") and didn't come sharp. Also, I'm not a fan of serrations. I bought it on ebay for a steal because I thought I would use it camping, etc..
It would make a good sd blade, but the jury might not approve
I would take a look at some other makes as well. Each one performs differently depending on the task at hand.
Of the one you inquired about, they offer a plain edge elite in aus8. Not a bad choice and I would trade it for my 2000. for the price, though, I would look at Rat, Ontario, and Ka-bar as well.
Anyone reccomend one over another ?
