SOCOM 16 range/accuracy with scope

I've been advised overall to get the M1A Scout Squad model. Better accuracy. Longer range. But...what is the SOCOM capable off with a scope? I know its not a 1000 yard rifle...but is it a 500 yard rifle with a scope?

I don't own one, .........darn.

And I don't think I've seen a write up on a conventionally scoped socom, only irons or dots. At least I don't remember one that gave group size at 500 anyhow.

But with a medium powered scope, I would have to think that a deer or man pie plate size target at 500 would be in grave danger.

There has ben some criticism of the socoms coarse iron sights at distance, but a scope should solve all that.
