So you want to fight California gun laws?

I'm going to post this here and anywhere else that I can think of, feel free to post it every where you want.

Seeing how this issue started in this thread http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=217614 and the idea came up as a combination of ideas, here it goes.

If you truely want to help us out in California because you hate the gun laws that the politicians keep freely passing here, here's the idea. "We" as gun owners need to take a stand against Kalifornia. This is going to involve contacting ALL gun Mfg's and even aftermarket Mfg's to tell them to stop selling to all agencies (law enforcement) if AB352 passes. If they DO NOT stop there will be a Nationwide ban against them. Here's just a piece of info for people out there, I spoke to someone that know's Ronnie Barrett. He asked other Mfg's to follow his lead but they refused. Reason given was the "stockholders" had to be kept happy.

So, if they want to keep the "stockholders" happy they will need to listen to the American public. This is where "we" the people ALL need to come together and let them know we're tired of Kali gun laws. Let them know they will feel it in their pocket book and from the "stockholders" if they continue to sell firearms to Kalifornia.

Please feel free to start adding contact info for all gun Mfg's so that people can start writing, calling and emailing.

It would be much more effective to get a couple of million dollars together and put a wholesale revision of CA gun laws on the ballot, preferably in an off-year election that few are going to vote in.

We tried this last year, I was a volunteer, but we had no financial support, and so it died. For 2 million bucks, you can get a garantee that your proposition will get on the ballot, and for a few million more, spent wisely and in the right places, you can get it passed.

Get the money first, then pick your time and place. It'll work.

That's the trouble with government today. It's run by money instead of people.
I think all money should be destroyed and we go to the barter system.

So why hasn't some gun-loving millionaire 'taken one for the team' and taken care of bidness? Surely there are enough of those in Cali...

Quick, is Charlton Heston still alive?

It's real simple:

If you vote for Democrats, you lose your guns and gun rights.
If you vote for Republicans, you keep your guns and you recover lost gun rights.
If you want to own guns and have gun rights, don't elect Democrats.

Amen! That's exactly what I was thinking.

This should NOT be the way we are forced to get it done... er, "git 'er done!

It sounds like a good idea but someone like Colt or S&W would just open a subsidiary and sell their M&P clones only to LEO/Gov't - isn't that almost what Colt is doing now anyway?

It's not nearly that simple...

If you vote for Democrats, you lose your guns and gun rights.
If you vote for Republicans, you keep your guns and you recover lost gun rights.
If you want to own guns and have gun rights, don't elect Democrats.

The truth is that there are pro-gun Democrats and anti-gun Republicans...

Sarah Brady's a Republican, for example...

Yeah, and Michael Moore is an NRA Life Member...

Who says people can't join one or the other group with the direct intention of sabotaging it?

Probably the same people who say that one's position on guns has to define the entire spectrum on one's political beliefs. They're wrong.

There's a lot of powerful people who have bet their power and privelige that lots of voters will believe it, but that doesn't make it true.

Because someone has a different outlook from you when it comes to the importance of the right to keep and bear arms he's wrong? Well, as we say here in California, thank you for sharing.

Tim

No, you misunderstand me. It is those who think that one's position on guns determines their position on other issues who are wrong. The idea that left-wing always= anti-gun is the wrong idea I was refering to... I thought that was clear in my post.

Sorry if it twernt.

What's the annual budget for new firearms in CA (KA?)

Whats going to keep the state and LEA's from going offshore?

What a can of worms! A lot, if not most, of the people opposed to this type of legislation have moved out of Kalifornia, leaving people that approve of this kind of crap, or just don't care, to elect the "representatives". The politically
aware people need to band together, elect "reps" to look after their interests, and hold the reps feet to the fire. What happens in Kali effects us all, but the legislature in Kali is elected by Kalifornians. It's ultimately a state fight. Putting pressure on manufacturers may help, but it's not the final solution..

We know that, Bob. A big part of the problem is that political districts here are heavily gerrymandered to favor liberal candidates, making it a near impossibility to elect enough pro-gun representatives to make a difference. Governor Schwartzenegger, a RINO, but at least an "R", called for redistricting in a special election but (Guess what!) his proposal fell flat on its face.

Easier said than done in California, where the politicians choose their voters, instead of the other way around:
