So who here has a Sidewinder?

Why would any normal person need 10 rounds in their shotgun?
Only law enforcement and government should have that sort of firepower.
Clearly that device would make your shotgun an urban assault weapon and would cause you to go on a killing rampage in your nearest school yard.
These things should be banned ....
... after all, its for the kids!

:D

Spinner, that weren't funny mate. It might have been funny if I hadn't been dealing with a few pro-renewal of the "assault" weapons ban monkeys lately (who own fancy shotguns)! :barf:

"yeah i have seen those, a bandolier is cheaper"

Getting them from the bandolier to the chamber doesn't help your comstock score, nor does it save your life potentially fumbling for and inserting, rather than simply racking the slide.

with a standard shotgun you can continually top off its internal mag and never run empty, never run out of expensive bulky magazines to stuff in the gun. the sidewinder is useful at getting a better capacity from a short barrel. each system has its drawbacks.

The 10 round drum is cute.
:)

My Mossberg 590 (50668) already has an 8 round tubular magazine. It also holds four more shells in the Davis SpeedFeed stock that are fairly fast to reach and reload. This was the standard configuration from Mossberg.

I don't feel the need to spend $270 to add two more rounds, or another $100 for the ability to quickly swap in a new 10 round drum. I tend toward excess in such matters, but even I am having a hard time coming up with a home defense scenario where I need the extra capacity that a quick drum change would provide. But I'm willing to admit that other people's needs are different from mine. Besides, it isn't about whether you need it or not. As long as you aren't infringing anothers rights, you should have the right to whatever weapon you like.

I can see where this would be good for someone who wanted a short barrel and high capacity.

But think of the "cool" factor

:p ...plus I can only get seven 3" magnum shells in my Mossberg, here I could have 10 (15 pellet S&B)...That's 150 projectiles pretty fast, for when Hitlery comes knocking on my door

Well, and I kinda like the 6 round mags more than the 10 round drum - the latter seems too cumbersome. This could be handy in 3-gun comps also. And coolness factor high, as has been pointed out. You brought up Hitlery - yesterday I walked past a display with Billary's book for sale - I would definitely need more rounds than are contained in one tube mag to destroy that entire display, if ever given the chance. :-\

hey, wouldn't one of those be just the ticket on a Serbu super shorty? :D

edit... darn... looks like you wouldn't be able to rack it.
