Vortex Viper HS-T 4-16x44 VMR-1

Nikon MONARCH 3 Custom XR Turret Rifle Scope - 4-16x50

Leupold VX-3 4.5-14x40mm Rifle Scope

Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x50AO MC Rifle Scope Matte Black with Target Turrets

Burris Fullfield II Ballistic Plex E1 4.5-14x42mm Rifle Scope

Bushnell Elite 4-16x50mm MultiX AO Semi-Target Turrets Riflescope

will be buying 2 probably different ones to compare on my 2 new rifles

Of the scopes you listed, there are three that I like the better than the rest.

If you are going "tactical"

1, Vortex.
2, Nikon.
3, Leupold.

If you are going "target"

1, Leupold.
2, Nikon.
3, Vortx.

But in reality any of the scopes you listed will do just fine for just about anything.

Just bought a vortex viper for my ar and really like it.
On my bolt I have a redfield revenge and its a nice glass for the money.

the biggest reason i listed the leupold is because it is only 15.6 oz!

however i have already handled one of the nikons

the vortex comes highly recomended

one will be going on a hunting rifle the other will be going onto a tactical/target rifle.

actually for the tactical rifle i was thinking the leupold vx3l

oh! and Jimro for what reasons woud you choose them in that order?

Personally, I wouldn't have Nikon on my short list of options. I had a Monarch 4-16 die on my 223. I have a Leupold VX3 in 4.5-14 with the Varmint Hunter reticle and I like it a lot. I have a Burris FFII in 4.5-14, which I bought to see what I could get for $300, and I found that you can get a very nice scope for that. I like the Burris a lot, and have used it on coyotes and pigs out to 400 yards. I think I am going to buy a Vortex Viper PST 4-16 FFP. I want to try it out. I don't have a Zeiss, but would not hesitate to own one.

And I should mention that even though I do grump about the Nikon breaking, I never did like it much, so having it break actually was a good thing. I replaced it with a Leupold VX2 in 6-18, which I like, but don't like as much as the VX3. I'm not sure I'd buy another VX2, but would just up the money and get the VX3.

I use a Leupold VX3 6x24 Long Range scope with side focus. I like the side focus feature because you don't have to get out of shooting position to adjust parallax. With the AO I have to change my position to adjust parallax.
