So maybe Marlin (Remlin) **IS** "back" (Marlin 336 anecdote)

Salmoneye I have seen that before. Anyone should be able to run right out to the garage and crank out a couple hundred cases in no time at all. Thanks for the link. At least it was interesting.

I would like to have a 35 remington myself. The ammo and componant issues keep me from buying one. Remingtons ammo site only list one load. The 150gr load. Whats the point? If I want to shoot 150s I will just grab my 30-30.

Its a shame that remington buys marlin, builds their rifles but doesn't seem to think making ammo for them would be a good idea. Hopefully the OP has a stash of ammo for his new gun. I hope he kills a giant elk too.

Like I stated earlier my bud has a 35 for sale. He even has a small amount of ammo for it. But I like to reload for everything I shoot. I have been watching for a couple of years and thought maybe it would get better.

I mentioned that Academy had no 35 rem loads but had several boxes of 7mm Mauser. There are probably at least a hundred marlin lever guns in 35 remington for every 7mm mauser. But you can't sell what they don't make.

I like the second method better. But I have no interest in buying any more guns at this point. I just shot two rifles a week ago for the first time since I bought them over a year ago. I don't hunt or shoot like I did 5 years ago. But I do like to think about getting new guns. Its a sickness I have.

Now all I have to do is go shoot the 4 new handguns I bought. One of them 4 years ago.

So do I need to get a different follower or not, for the Hornady leverevolution? It seems to feed full unfired rounds fine.

I think you have your answer...

I don't use the gummy tips in any of my guns, but have been told by those that do, if your particular gun will cycle the last one in the mag reliably, then there is no need to change your follower...

Some guys have told me that they simply insert a 'regular' flat or round nose cartridge into the mag first, instead of changing the follower...

You shouldn't need to change the magazine follower.

All recent production Marlins were supposed to be getting the new follower. (Some models got the 'new' follower starting in the late-'90s, even. Contrary to popular belief, the follower design predates the Hornady 'gummy tips'.)

salmoneye thanks for posting that. His brass looks really good. I may have to call my buddy and see if his 35 remington is still for sale. I haven't bought a new gun in several months. I'm getting the shakes and starting to itch all over.
