i was surfing the web tonight looking for the next rifle and scope setup to buy and i ran into a extreme weather model 70 in 264 win mag and i thin k it would be dandy with a nikon monarch 4-16x42.

any suggestions?

I have an extreme weather in .270 Win, hated the stock and replaced it. While serviceable the B&C stock is just too thick through the wrist and forearm unless you have very large hands. If they made an ultimate shadow SS in .264 Win I'd buy it instead and order up a McMillan for it.

It sounds like a really nice rifle. I really like the Winchesters right now and them bringing the .264 chambering back only makes me want to get one even more. If you do pull the trigger (pun intended) on getting one be sure to post pictures and reports on how it shoots.

i will most certainly post pictures and a range report.

i have bought quite a few firearms and accessories lately so i need to take a little time to save some more coin before i buy. that ew with that monarch scope will cost me around $1400 i figure

plus they dont make a stainless gun in walnut

Oh, I see. Good reason. In certain Win 70 lines, at certain times in the past, Winchester has done limited runs of wood/SS rifles. One of my most prized guns is one of these, but no I don't see them for sale anywhere at the moment, even used.

I guess my love of wood got me with the model 70 rifles.
I know that they will be moving to Portugal. Or so both local gunships have said.

My one local shop had a sported and a feather weight in stock.
The feather weight is a 7mm-08 and the sported is a 300 win mag. I asked the owner if he could get them in another caliber and they said no that's it until the come from portugal
