So is this how Swede addiction begins?

Although I already have a cut down model 96/38, yesterday at a local gunshow I couldn't resist getting another full length 96 Swede Mauser, because this one had such a beautiful stock, the longer barrel, and excellent-shape rifling, I justified. I am very pleased with the purchase, but I've definitely crossed the need barrier. Uh-oh - I can see how an addiction like this COULD grow.

One thing that dawned on me yesterday was that those plates on these old military rifles that have info about the condition at de-commissioning, etc., can easily be REPLACED to defraud you, esp. if not gotten straight from the wholesaler. Inspect the gun, not the plate, I guess.

I have owned a Swedish Mauser for the past 8 years and it is absolutely brand new with a perfect bayonet with it. It looks to be unfired and even the stock has no dings in it. I paid $100 bucks for mine. What are they going for these days.

Hi, my name is Steve, and I'm a Swedeaholic. None of the 96s scared me, but the second Ljungman was where I started to worry.

Addicted? No, I can stop whenever I want to. Really.

Go on, buy another one. Those beautifully crafted pieces of metal aren't addictive. You can handle it.

Yeah, I can quit whenever I want to . . .

I just don't want to, yet. Maybe after a couple more . . . .
