Kinda irritated at myself to be honest.
Here I am, just put down good money on a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake holster with IWB strips for my S&W Model 65 3". It conceals nicely, especially when IWB. I was happy.
Then I got on ebay. Then I saw that Barami Hip Grip, new in the package, for sale with a "Best Offer" option.
I figured I'd lowball an offer- totalled $14 after shipping. No way they'll ...
Yep, it came in the mail a few days ago.
Yes, it conceals better than the SRSP holster, and holds it securely in my waistband. I wasn't really surprised by that (OK, maybe a little...)
What surprised me was:
1) The comfort- I expected the hammer from my Model 65 to jab me in the lovehandles, and I'd hate it. On the contrary, the gun is just about as comfortable as it is in the IWB holster.
2) It helps me with my trigger- I have long fingers. With a lot of guns, especially smaller ones, I have to stick my knuckle a ways out to use the pad of my finger for my trigger pull. With my hip grip on, the pad of my finger rests naturally on the trigger when I dry fire.
3) It fits in my holster. I don't even have to take the grips off when I want to use my SR hoslter on my belt. Obviously, the grips will be replaced with regual magna grips if I want to use the holster IWB...
This might be the best $14 I've spent in a while....
