So I broke my rifle, now what?

I removed the magazine disconnector and the spring that went with it from my Marlin 795. Turned out that same part also affected the holt hold-open lever, so I put it back in. Trouble is, I broke the spring that returned this part to default position as an expedient to getting it out. Bad move! Turned out that the same damn part is also involved in cocking the hammer so I could click the trigger once after the re-assembly but not any more. Double oops! Now I have a gun that won't fire.

I can try and order the spring from Marlin and install it. Has anyone any idea if my quest to disable the magazine disconnector would have to be abandoned or if there's a way to lock it in place without removing the part?

Oleg, you could remove the spring and then epoxy the part in place. If you ever wanted to return it to function apply a heated screwdriver tip, soldering iron, etc, remove it, clean the epoxy off and reinstall with the spring. George
