I like it a lot. It is my favorite target shooting Sig. Very accurate, and the SA trigger is excellent. The DA trigger tends to be poor in my experience, but just pull the hammer back and go SA only. In 9mm, that would be my favorite Sig.

It is a very good pistol that produces excellent accuracy. I am not overly thrilled with its size. I prefer single action pistols such as the Browning High-Power and safe actions like the Glock. I think the Glock 19 has to be the most size efficient high capacity 9mm there is. Regards, Richard.

The P226 is a world-class pistol. Mine is 9mm, and it's one of the guns I'm proudest to own. It's well-made, reliable, and accurate, with a comfortable grip and, for a DA/SA pistol, a good trigger.

However, the P226 is a full-size service sidearm. Concealability is a major factor for me, and for concealed carry I prefer its younger brother, the P228, which in fact I like even better.

my wife has a P226 in 9mm. she is fond of reminding me that it shoots just as well or better than my high dollar custom pistols. indeed it is as accurate as a small rifle. i would not feel poorly armed to carry it any time...if she would let me.....LOL

i use either a g17 or 19 in idpa shoots. however when i use the 226 i really clean house (now if they can get the local meets to move quicker) i can actually finish one before work.
also as mentioned above the 228 is another fine handgun

Dude, I've had a couple of Sigs. A 226 and a 220. Both were outstanding pistols that I should never have let friends talk me out of. They're ugly (my opin) and they're hard to conceal, but they are some of the most accurate and reliable pistols on the market.

I carried one for five years and believe that it is one of the finest handguns out there. The action is great and it is extremely reliable. The one problem is the finish which wears terribly. I still loved the weapon.

I hear everyone saying they own the 226 in 9mm. Does this gun come in any other caliber? I always thought it was 9mm only.

Take it from a Sig expert; the P226 in 9m/m
is definitely world class, in every aspect.
I too agree with all the comment's posted
here by Sig lover's. One other point, the
Sig's function flawlessly in sub-zero weather
conditions; which is another reason that it
was chosen as the Navy Seal Teams service
firearm. So, to sum up go ahead and purchase
one while you can; before "that something
for nothing crowd in Washington" eliminates
them, altogether!!! :)

I've carried one for nine years. It is the only pistol I have ever shot that has absolutely never, not even once, had a malfunction. That includes 1911's, revolvers, BHP, Glocks, Sig P220, etc, etc. They also make the 226 now in .357Sig and .40. I carried the 9 for 7 years and the .40 now for 2 years.

I have a 226 in .40 and it's incredibly accurate and reliable. Easy to control, but not too huge. One of the best combat handguns around (IMHO). The .40/.357 is perfect middle ground for power and capacity...Go for it!

Great gun. Accurate, reliable, easy to clean, good cheap hi-caps easy to find. I bought one! and a P220 too.
