Well, they don't, actually, they are good but I am out some money. Either way, I went in to buy a holster for my p99 and walked out with the holster and a beretta CX4storm in .40 cal. I have always wanted one and there was one sitting there. Gun, case, cleaning kit, three 11 round mags, and front bottom picantty (spelling??) rail for $500. I thought this to be a very good deal and ended up with it. Anyways, just passing this along as I have to share with some one. Can't wait to shoot it. Also, going back tomorrow. Same dealer had russian SKS in excellent condition. Wanted $360 for it. I have 14 hours to talk myself out of that one. Unless someone here can do it for me... :D :D :D

Is THAT the market price for a Russian SKS ? Hot dog, I may have found a way to help finance my match rifle.... Let me know if you have non-buyers remorse. I have an unfired one thats been in my safe for 10 plus years.....

I don't think I Would pay that kind of money for a SKS

Unless you are really interested in the SKS. I am not.

Saw to many of them for like, cheap. Maybe not the Russian super shooter in
1" moa. Sure! Are there any out there? If so maybe I will change my mind.

They had a lot of Yuko SKS's anywhere from $90-$225. The russian's seemed to be going from about $340-$480. Everyone seems to agree the russian is the best of the sks's out there and they seem to be getting fewer in number. so that is why I thought this might be a fun rifle for plinking that could be a rifle that would hold it's value in the future.

Radiki, sounds good.

I am going to a gun show in Reno Sunday the 20 of Nov. Tommorrow. I will check around and see if I can verify what you think.
It does make sense.
Most of the guns I have seen in the last 20 years are keeping up with inflation and some are even better. So it might be a good spot to put the money unless the Gov. takes them away LOL...

Saw quite a few of them.

The Russian ones were more expensive. Saw them in the range of 299 and up to 750. Some had more gadgets and might be worth it.
I believe the major thing I saw at this show was high prices and lots of it.

I got a few things that are hard to come by any other way.
I found some of the shooters I was looking for (1 of each) Pretty amazing I was looking for a 358 win in a Browning lever, found it.

It was over priced big time and really in bad shape. I could buy a new one in the box and still had enough to get 40 rounds of ammo. But it was the only one I saw. The guy told me they are not being made and are rare..Sure...:barf:

I found one Desert Eagle and it was not one that can come into CA. It was pretty steep also.

Lots and lots of 45 caliber Colts are for sale, must be because all those 45 caliber guys are now shooting 9mms.

Anyway I went and came away with the feeling that most of the guns are at the gun shows and are owned by gun dealers.:p

I found a guy selling parts for M1 carbines, Lots of information and a Great person and very honest, I believe. Gary Funderman out of OK. He is good in my opinion, and I told him so.

IMO the russians arent any more better than a yugo 59. they are both pretty straight shooters and will do good for whatever you use them for.

they might look a little better but thats about it.

i think $300 is the most i would go for a russian. we all know that everything at a gunshow is atleast 10%-15% over priced...sometimes more

old thread, good topic

yes, the gun shows DO suck anymore. You can't talk price with a vendor without an argument and dirty looks, what's up with that ? What a bunch of jerks at those shows anymore. The vendors all act as if someone peed in their cereal this morning. You can tell when someone shows up with guns priced right, they sell a lot of them. Yet these other guys show up with the same moldy old guns with 3x prices. Wouldn't you get tired of carrying those guns around ? When I want to sell something, I price it right and down the road it goes. These guys are like trying to sell toilet paper for $30 a roll.
