Snubby 22

I picked up a 22/32 kit gun on a trade, 2" snubby. I carry a 422, 4" when I'm
fishing and goofing off in woods. I shot snub off bags, 15 yds is about the limit
of accurate shooting for me and my eyes. I have 4" m-34 & other 22s that are
good accurate guns, am I expecting to much out of snub? I would like to be able
to hit beer can at 30yds, offhand for my carry gun. Anybody had shooting time
with this model, nothing wrong with gun.

beer cans at 30 yards off hand is a pretty good trick with a J frame in any caliber. it can be done but expecting to hit every shot is unrealistic.

It's hard to shoot snubbies. If you consider "close" to the can at 30 yds, I think that is a reasonable expectation. I'm not too good with my Ruger LCR 22 at more than about 15 yds and even then, I don't hit every time. But's it's fun none the less. I can shoot carefully and hit a pie plate at that distance.

Yer gonna hafta practice a lot,,,

Yer gonna hafta practice a lot,,,
The gun is probably capable of that precision.

I can hit clay pigeons at 25 yards with my Model 34 snubbie,,,
But not every shot that's for certain,,,
3-4 out of six shots is my best,,,
I scare them with the misses. ;)

I can often hit all six with my 4" Model 34,,,
But 4-5 is more the norm for that.

So yeah, maybe you are asking a lot from your snubbie,,,
But what the heck, it's lots of fun to try.

A single action shot at 30 yards with a 22 snub is possible. Double action... depends on the revolver, and your skill level. I tried it yesterday, and I can do it with my Pathfinder, but not my LCR-22. What people dont seem to realize is that snubs are accurate, but many shooters arent capable.

One problem with snubs is sight radius. With such a short radius, sight alignment is a bigger problem than with a longer barrel.
