"Snap" on rubber grips?

I forgot who makes these.:o
Would someone with a GOOD memory please reply and tell me? They're supposed to be a little lighter and also cover the exposed back-strap on the light J-frames.

Sheesh, I'd forget my head.

The Bantam is made by Hogue and it is great, but it doesn't (and i'm glad) cover the backstrap. I have them on all my S&W J and K/L frame snubs. I wish they would make them for the N frame. They would be great on the Mountain Guns or on 624, 625, 627, or 629 snubs. The J frame version is similar in size to a Spegal or Uncle Mikes boot grip. It is however a little slimmer, trimmer, and lighter and just pops right on rather than using screws. The K/L frame version is unique. It sports a little protrusion on the bottom to catch your little finger...something no other boot grip has. But the little pinky extension is so small that it in no way hurts carrying or concealment properties. Like I said, I wish Hogue would make them for the N frame. I have asked repeatedly, but they say they don't think there is enough of a market for them. If you would like a Hogue Rubber Bantam Bootgrip for the N frame, call and E-Mail Hogue to death until they cave in and make us some.

 Just pops right on? :o

They're kind of a pain to put on/remove, IMHO. Particulary when it's important to clean under the grips for those of us with acidic perspiraton.:( However, they stay-put, and are darn fine grips if they feel comfortable to you.:)

Just now put them on...

They feel good and look good and I think that they feel a little lighter too. A great $20.00 add-on. Plus the gun shop 3/4 of a mile away had them in stock.

I've got the Hogue "Bantam's" on my 1979-80
vintage Smith & Wesson model 60 for two main
reason's:

#1- so I can preserve the original walnut
Smith & Wesson grip's with the S&W
medallion insert.

#2- they are very comfortable!:D Besides
they are functional; looking and feeling
great! And YES, they are a tad bit
lighter in weight.:)

Good grips

I put Bantam grips on my 442 and they've made all the difference in how well I shoot it (for the better that is).

So the Bantam grips are slimmer, or otherwise smaller than the S&W factory (Uncle Mike's) Boot grips that came on my 642?

Losing another 1/2 ounce from the grip screw doesn't concern me, but slimmer is always better in a pocket pistol.

So the Bantam grips are slimmer...

The advantage of the Bantam is the finger grooves, and the rubber seems just a bit softer. I find it easier to get a firm, consistent grip with the Bantams. The gun does not jump around as much with each shot so I don't have to keep re-gripping the gun.

I don't think the dimensions are different from the stock grips. I'll take a look when I get home.

Everything Marca says is true. To me, the Bantam grips "feel" slimmer. I'm not sure where the 0.8 oz weight loss comes from. I am sure I like the looks and the feel better with the Bantams. I'm not sure, but I believe that Bantams are already on *some S&W snubs.

According to my 2002 S&W catalog, the AirLites seem to be available with the Bantams.

Even if the dimensions are the same, sounds like a change is in order... Hogue grips are generally my favorite grips by far, so that alone is worth the swap from Uncle Mike's.

Thanks
