Snake shot and porting

I am considering buying a Taurus 608SS6 or 608SS8. I wanted it for outdoor fishing and hiking along with self defense. I wanted a revolver so I could load a couple rounds of snake shot then some potent stuff. I just read that CCI stated I can't put shot in a ported barrel. Does this mean I should look at the Ruger 161? Please help, first time with the group at The Firing Line.

If you really want to shoot the shot capsules - buy a handgun without a ported barrel.

looks like this barrel porting is a new feature for this model according to the Taurus website. I would look into getting this model made prior to this innovation.
