Smoothing or loosening up Coach gun break

I recently bought a Stoeger Coach Gun in 12 guage. It is "wicked stiff" to break open. Other than 100's of practice breaks, has anyone ever used a stone or emery cloth to accomplish the desired smoothness?

Please keep in mind that my native American name translates as "Fumbles with Tools":)

You might try using a little grease after it has been cleaned. Apply the grease on the hinge pin and other bearing surfaces. The stiffness is usually related to trying to cock on opening. Some of these inexpensive guns will smooth up nicely, some do not. The multiple breaks method (with the grease) will do the best job

Even the Brownings are very stiff at first ! I recommend putting some good grease on the pin and bolt ,especially the high pressure types , and while you're watching the tube ,open and close the action at least 100 times ! That will make a difference.
