I am new here and would like to find information about my grandmother's S & W that I inhereated. Due to the grip size I am sure it is for a female. I cannot find a model number but it is a 32 long. The serial number is 2162xx. It is a six shot and the barrel is approximately 4 inches long.
Thanks for your help.

Here's one that I own, and its quite a shooter . . . FANTASTIC trigger and very accurate.

The I-frame was the predecessor of today's slightly larger J-frame guns, and the J-frame versions, (Model 30 and 31) in .32 Long are great revolvers too!

CAN YOU SAFELY SHOOT YOUR 1903 5th Change? Absolutely if it is in good condition!!!

Keep in mind that S&W didn't use modern heat treating methods on their revolvers until the early '20s so don't use hot, handloaded rounds in yours . . . but all store-bought .32 Long ammo will be fine in it!

Hope this helps. Mine still wears its original stocks too, and is in its original bright nickel-plated finish.
