There is a nice used one at the local gun shop. Does anyone have any info on these? Are they any good?

Thanks,

shane

They're nothing to write home about. For the money spent there's not much return. If you can get it for 500$ of less, it is a good deal. If it's more than 500$ you'd be better off buying a SIG Sauer, HK, Walther or a Kimber.

Recon

The lack of response is not so much with the gun as the action type. I don't think that the traditional DA/SA has much of a following among those who don't HAVE to use one. Looking at my local IDPA matches, seems like everyone carries a Glock or 1911. I looked at and was interested in one at one time, wound up with a TSW which I thought would be cheaper. Could have bought the Recon for the money spent on action work. How much do they want for it? It's it the 4 1/4 bbl., alloy frame, right?

Thanks for the replys. It is LNIB with the aluminum case for $799.00 but he would go down to about $725.00. I have about that much to spend, are there any recommendations. I am looking for a nice carry gun. I already have a Wilson, Les Baer, Sig 228 and a few others, I am getting rid of my last Glock.

Thanks.

The PC Recon 9 is an outstanding pistol. I have one and it is in no way inferior to my Walther P99, Browning Hi Powers, Sigs, Glocks and HK's. In fact, it has been stone-cold reliable and very accurate as are all PC guns that I own. Don't be swayed by opinions of those who speak from no experience of ownership. Other marques may offer more "glamor" or whatever. I'll go with reliable and accurate anytime. Hi cap mags are readily available.

I have a PC 945, and its a great weapon. I'd have to say its one of the most accurate guns I have fired. I saw the Recon a couple weeks ago at a gunshow, and liked it a great deal. S&W makes all their PC guns in a very different process than the other guns they make - all hand fitted, and tight tolerances, and exceptional workmanship. If you can get him down to $700 --- that would even be better .. But I would take the deal at $725
