anyone have a smith and wesson model 25, .45 long colt, the 2001 version. i believe its a model 25-10. looking to purchase, not many out there. would like some feed back relative to this particular piece. thanks

I have a 625-9, .45 Colt, four-inch barrel, N Frame, Mountain Gun (find image here, post #5): http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147624.

It is absolutely superb in every conceivable attribute and category. I have used it as my primary CC weapon, loaded with Georgia Arms 200 grain Gold Dots (1100 FPS, ten feet from the muzzle), which is PLENTY of stopping power -- at least equal to any .45 ACP +P. I paid about $550 for mine, NIB a couple years ago.

local guy had one from a few years before that- barrel pin and all. It was one of his best shooting revolvers. Unfortunately, he 'sploded it with a double charge.

I've got a blued one, it's a great revolver - classic lines etc...

I only wish the finish was a little nicer, it's kind of matte, I've been considering getting it back to smith for a high bright blue.

I have a 25-5 with an 8 3/8 barrel that is a sweet gun to shoot, made when they still had the nice blue finish.
