Hello Everyone,
I have an old circa 1964 nickel plated Smith & Wesson Model 58 .41 Magnum I bought from a private collector here in Dallas. I shot it only once and sent it to Ron Powers to be slicked up. Well, it is back.
The sights retain the original factory zero and I was unwilling to have Ron adjust them at this time since the factory nickel job is so nice. Ron was hesitant as well.
I know the original zero for the sights was based on the medium velocity 210-grain Lead SWC.
What other more street effective load will share this zero or closely approximate it?
If memory serves, the one time I shot it some time ago it seems to be generally on target at 15 yards with the full house Federal 210-grain Hi-Shok JHP loads (1300 fps) or Winchester 175-grain Silvertips were dead on, but I am not sure which load was the one I ran through it. Besides, it was quite sometime ago.
Any input would be greatly helpful so I have a good starting place.
