so this is my first post, and I just wanted to introduce my self to the forums and show off a little bit of my work. I am a Gunsmith from Florida and im in the process of opening up my own shop. new to the whole forum thing so please bear with me lolz. thought id use this to show off a little bit of my work and see what you guys think. this is a Smith and Wesson Airweight that one of my buddies had for a while and it started to corrode due to sweat, and very little maintenance. So he asked me to fix it up for his wife.

What type of finish did you use? What was your process for stripping down the aluminum?

The black looks really nice. Pink grips aren't exactly my style, but to each their own.

I wonder if the black finish will wear differently on the stainless cylinder and the AL frame.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work. Welcome to the forum?

I Sandblasted the whole thing and used Gun Kote. its a oven cured paint. as far as wear it should wear like any other finish. its a good quality product. I feel you on the pink grips but it was either that or painting the actual revolver pink. lolz smh.

I really like that new finish. I've got a couple of airweight j-frames on which the finishes are wearing off, and I've wondered if anyone gets them refinished. Very inspiring.
