Smith & Wesson 908

Guys,

I've been a long time fan of the S&W 3913 single stack for CCW but the price was always a little on the high side and I already have a 9mm compact(P228), but single stack would suit my wife better and as S&W have introduced a budget 3913 in the form of the Model 908 I'm seeking anyone who has any experience of this gun. Have they cut too many corners and turned a fine weapon into a junker or is it really a steal at $350.

Regards,

The 908 has been around for a few years now. It is a steal! Part of the Value Series. All internals are the same as the 3913. The differences are in the cosmetics. Less machining steps (notice slide is a bit more squared off than the 3913) save money. Also, the rear sight is plastic, not the Novaks that the 3913 have. Alloy frame makes it light. Other great bargains in the Value series include the 909, 910, 457. You will not be dissappointed. ......SmithNut

I can't speak of the 908 only of the 910 and 915. The 910/915 that I fired performed as reliably as any modern auto loader can be expected. Lots of people bash SW autos without having any direct experience with them. They fed everything I cared to stuff in the mag and had nice DA/SA pulls to boot.
