Smith & Wesson 629 FC ?

I saw a 629 FC and was wondering if any one could tell me the difference between it and the Trail Boss other than the price? :eek:

Any suggestions on porting?

Also any other feed back on the 629 snub would be great.

I have a 629 Combat Master, which was a limited run for Lew Horton. It's pretty much the same gun as the Trail Boss, just from the 1980's.

The porting makes a difference (I have two other 3" 629's), but the muzzle flash is still impressive; you get this nice "angel wings" effect from the ports.

Sounds like you believe the porting is a good feature.

I currently have a Mountain Gun in 44 and have only put six 44 specs thru it.

I've been eyeing the 629 snubs and wondering how it would compare to the MG for cc.

Have you found any 44 mag ammo that works well in these lighter 629's?

I was looking at Federals Hydra Shok in 44 mag. I have tried the Hydra Shok 357 Low Recoil ammo in a Taurus 605 and it seems to makes a big difference.

I was just wondering if any one else has found a lower recoil alternative in 44 mag vs going with 44 spec. From what I've read 44 spec is still a better defense load than 357's out of a snub.
