SMITH & WESSON 52-2 .38 WC pistol !?!?

OK here is the deal ! I love this gun and I want to get one. Used I have seen them for around $700 and new some guy wanted $1250 but I said thats too much. Now, I found one thats NEW unfired with Four clips (two new on two used) for $1000. What shall I do and what to look for. Also I am interested in the 9mm limited edition auto target by S&W. Any suggestions !
 
I recently purchased a used one in mint condition with 2 magazines for $450 so a new one for a $1000 seems kind of high. But if you want it bad enough and have the bucks why not go for it. It is a very fine pistol.
 
Are you looking as a shooter or a collector? If a shooter, you know that the $1000 contains a premium for unfired that you will send downrange with wadcutter #1. If a collector, I can only tell you that I have seen only 1 legitimately unfired M52-2 in recent years and its asking price with 2 mags was $1100. Coincidentally, I have a fairly nice M52-2 for sale at $725. I would be happy to discuss it with you if interested. Bill
 
I have shot one. Damn, thats a nice peice. You can get really tight groups with it. The gun looks good. Very nice gun. Go for it.
