Smith and Wesson revolvers

Next episode of the 2020 confinement pictorials, the S&W revolvers, a world famous brand with a huge following. Mine mostly fall into the 80s-90s period.

I am not a fan of the internal lock, both aesthetically and morally. I think a responsible adult gun owner should not be imposed such a device. Therefore I sadly haven’t bought a new S&W in a long time, but thankfully quality second hand examples are plentiful here in Switzerland.

And yes, I like combat grips. I’ve read some people hate them and think they’re an aberration. They fit my hands perfectly, are very comfortable and I love the look and the Goncalo Alves wood. I find the flaring at the bottom of the target grips make it unnecessarily wide for the little finger, despite having large hands. This also creates a tendency for the gun to rotate upwards in the hand when shooting, especially with heavy loads.

First and oldest one is not exactly a revolver, but close

And a non S&W, didn’t want to leave it out alone, and the design influence is obvious

Fine guns all.
I am dragging out the Combat Masterpiece .22 ("pre 18") for a little trigger finger discipline after I have chronographed some 9mm loads.

Awesome pics, thanks for sharing! that Manurhin seems to have a fantastic bluing job.

Your price for the 10mm is a tad higher than here, but I will assume that the VAT is the primary cause of that............

You are comparing prices with the new 610 ? This is a vintage one, almost 30 years old (time flies). VAT here is 8%.

I just checked prices of the new ones here, a tad over $ 1600
I suspect there are some import costs, distributer margin etc..

New prices for US made guns are typically substantially more expensive here compared to the US.

Thanks for sharing your pics of some fine Smith & Wesson revolvers. My favorites are the Model 15-3 4" blued which was my first revolver and the Model 19-4 4" Nickel that I carried for 24 years.

I'm with you on the internal lock issue and have only bought one so equipped - The Governor - at an auction for less than half MSRP. That internal lock was changed out ASAP.
