Found this cherry Model 57 a few days ago. Pinned barrel and recessed cylinder.

.41 Magnum

Six inch barrel, and pretty nice wood.

Excellent! That's a fine example of Smith & Wesson craftmanship. I'm interested in the .41 Magnum. Plan to try one out when I get the chance. Have you shot it yet? If so, how's the muzzle flip?

Thats soooo sweet! An older Model 57 is definitely on my want list. I'd also be interested in knowing how much you had to part with for it.

Snub,
Very nice M-57. I have two of them in six inch. One's real pretty like yours and the other is an S serial number with some wear that I carry while hunting.
Those led to a M-657 in 8 3/8 inch and that led to a Ruger Bisley in .41 mag.

They're like those Lays potatoe chips as one isn't enough, enjoy yours.

My Model 57.

Here is a pic of my Model 57 I've had it about 15 Years. Its in mint condition and it kicks like a mule.

Vintage 1981 - Recessed, not pinned. Unfired as of now.

I don't have the 57, I have a 58, which I dearly love. I paid $300 for it in about 99% condition 4 or so years ago, and I've been looking for a good 57 ever since.

In a moment of insanity, I passed on a 58 for $350 last year. How dumb was that?

Recently I've been looking for one, to no avail.

I had a Model 58 .. a 1969 gun... stolen.

The sad thing is, in Kalifornia, I doubt I'll ever see one again shy of $700. :(

The 58 is probably the sweetest gun, especially if the action is slick & smooth. Shoots right where you point it.
