Smith and wesson 3rd gen

There are 14 for sale on gunbroker right now. Here is the link

Also do not overlook the "Value Line" versions of the 5904, the models 910 and 915. I own a 5904, 910 and 915, they all shoot and carry the same.

I say Gunbroker as well. There is always a whole bunch of classic S&W autos available at any given time (and where I scored my 5943 SSV from).

Interesting note on 3rd Gens:

S&W recently opened up a supply of *NEW* 3rd Gen pistols, made at the Houlton, Maine facility a few years back. Seems they were produced for a particular unfulfilled contract, held for a while and now released.

You could make the argument that this just released group may be the LAST chance you'll ever have at a brand new 3rd Gen from S&W.

I just scrounge my local gun shops. Third gen guns come in from time to time. The key is patience and hitting the stores regularly.

So far, I've scored a 457, 411, 6906, 5904, and just recently, a 5906.

I picked up this nice 5904 back in March for a whopping $237 before tax. The gun store does a brisk business in new weapons like AR15s and polymer handguns, so this was sitting in the used gun case and nobody was even interested. All it needed was a new home and a good cleaning.

Where are you finding this?

Some have spotted them at Gander Mountain (hurl) and the one I saw in the flesh was at the Cabela's in Mitchell, SD. Saw that one on Saturday a week ago.

They were on Gunbroker a week/two weeks ago and I think some of the internet dealers have shown them recently also. They are priced between $600-$700.
