Smith 500 muzzle brake?

Kind of a dumb question but my Smith and Wesson 4 inch 500 magnum that I've had for quite a few years came with two muzzle brakes.one for jacketed and one for lead bullets.I have the jacketed one on as that's what I have been using over the years, but acquired some lead Corbin loads.is there one brake that I can use for both so I don't need to switch them out, obviously they have their purpose.

You can shoot either jacket or lead out of the comp intended for lead without issue.

The only reason they made two comps is the jacketed comp can become clogged with lead making it difficult to remove.

If you compare the comps you will notice the the jacketed comp has extra ports facing up, these are the ports that can get clogged.

The jacket comp offers a little less muzzle flip compared to the lead comp.

I use the jacketed comp all the time with lead and have yet to have any clogging though I size bullets and use gas checks.

be safe
