i have been studying, reading articles, and watching shows on "smart guns," "personalized guns" or what ever you want to call them. but frankly it pisses me off!! This is just one more step to bend us over and stick the 2nd ammendment up our asses!! This thread comes up bc, the GOV. of maryland wants to pass a law that all guns sold after june 1 2003 have to be speicalized "smart guns." This was the last straw for me. I am glad i am in a profession where, guns will always be apart of my life, but i fear for my kids and there
"right to bear arms!!"

As far as I'm concerned, the only smart part of a gun is the brain behind the triger. :)

I agree with you den,and it just goes to show that most of the people spouting off about these things, really don't have the brains the good Lord gave them. Don't know the first thing they are talking about :(
If you guys haven't, take a look at Berettas home page and see what they have to say about Smart Gun Technology. I like it and they don't beat around the bush :)

I have noticed the Beretta stand against smart guns. I give them props for this but with Komadar Klinton in charge Beretta might be up aginst a big wall.

We had a discussion on smart guns in class on Saturday. Our instructor asked some good questions.
1. Will they work in cold or hot/humid weather extremes?
2. Imagine if they failed what the gun manufacturers law suits would be like.
3. 100 years from now or even 50 or 25, would we be able to get them fixed or get parts for them?
Very good questions I deduct. So far nobody has an answer to them. Shame on them.

I just had a thought...Just think, that little .22LR pistol that many have but few shoot, will now be a "pre-ban" and worth one heck of a lot more than we paid for it.
Also, will all LE guns have to be "smart"? I get so tired of the guvmnt saying that I'm not allowed to own something becuase I'm only a "normal" citizen. (My wife would probably disagree with the "normal" part).
Smart guns will get more innocents killed.
I believe LE will have a smart gun disabling device/transmitter in near future, if not already. Soon, another law passed saying that all smart-guns will have to be able to be disabled with said device.

Just my rambling thoughts,
Bill

Once again we (the gun owners) are applying LOGIC to what is, at its most basic level, an EMOTIONAL issue.

The people who say these things ("guns are bad", "...for the children...", "...smart guns...", etc.) are sheep, and logic will not sway them.
