Smart guns - liability works both ways

Liability works both ways. Since S&W and Colt are going to be manufacturing these 'smart' (dumb) guns, if they fail to operate properly and the user is injured or killed as a result of not being able to defend themself with the
inoperative weapon, the manufacturer of that handgun (S&W or Colt) would be totally liable for the injury or death. They are legally responsible for all defects in their products. Also, in Maryland these will be the only handguns legal to sell in that state by 2003 (if the bill passes). Since Maryland legally requires gunowners to use this defective firearm technology, they will also
be liable. I hope thay S&W, Colt and the State of Maryland are all bankrupted by a flurry of lawsuits. Wouldn't that be sweet!? Live by the lawyer, lose your shirt by the lawyer.

I've come to know some fine people from Maryland thru this forum....including our missing Ivan....but I gotta say, if they scoot to safety and Maryland sinks into the ocean, I'll throw a righteous Central Cali BBQ....we know how to burn meat..Saleh!

And that is part of the big plan. Get everyone involved in the gun industry involved in litigation. After a while they will just go out of business. But when a city, county or state gets sued that's another story. We as taxpayers will take it in the shorts on that one.

I wonder how many anti-gun mayors will now order their city police depts to buy ONLY S&W guns as a show of support for a company that sided with klinton?

To all you LEO's out there...would you carry a "smart gun" and trust your life to it?

ARshooter, see my related post about sharing our pain with non-gun owners and everyone suing everybody.

When smart guns fail and someone is killed Dan Rudder
and the rest of the news puppies are gonna swarm like flies.
I can hear it now “millions wasted on smart gun technology
and they still don’t work. Haven't gun makers learned their lesson?”

One thing is certain, until anti’s use their brains instead of their butts
all they will do is whine louder.

Just wait until the first LEO dies because his/her "smart gun" failed to fire. There will be a wrongful death suit against the mfg. and the dept. for compelling the officer to carry the defective firearm. Too bad the politicos can't be enjoined.

Are these 'smart' guns the ones where it identifies your fingerprint or something? If that is correct, that would mean you could never sell or trade your gun then right? Why would anyone want a gun that would only work for the original owner? I think its all going to backfire and we are going to see more 'accidents' then we do now.

Unfortunately the cities mandating these retarded guns, wont be sued. Want to bet some sort of immunity will be thought of?? Also LEOs will be exempted from teh retardo guns. What politician is going to trust that his bodyguards' batteries aren't dead or the connections corroded. Retardo guns are meant only for the sheeple who cant be trusted.
