small game caliber question

Sure, 38spl is an excellent small game ctg. if the gun is accurate enough to hit what you aim at. A 38spl wad cutter will work great on most small to med.-small game.

If I can clearly see the animal's head... I can hit it with any firearm... Small game... summer rabbits will often be with in 10 yards. It is all about stealth and observation.

Small game, meaning rabbits, squirrels, and the like? Sure, a .38 with SWCs or LRNs will work OK. A .22 would be better, but use what you've got.

For the sport of it- I kinda wish .38 S&W was still affordable. I put an end to several smallish critters with one when I was stationed in Ky some years back.

Get a suppressor, and you can go back to full-power (standard-velocity) .22 LR and still sound like a daisy red-ryder

Yes, but the game warden would make sure that I spent the next several years being "special friend" to a cellmate nicknamed Tiny. :barf: I'll stick with the CB caps.

I have never tried it, apparently .38 swc turned backwards will be slow and have such a hollow pt that it will make a squirrel POP. I however am not a gunsmith, not in a profession where I use a weapon, I am a slightly hungover college student so take any thing I tell you with a grain of salt (and follow that salt with tequilla, and follow that with lime).:D

ok Doyle, I must assume then that you can't legally own one in Florida. They just became legal in MS a few years ago, and my .22 and .45 cans were definitely worth the hassle and expense.

You can own a suppressor in Florida (subject to the various federal requirements), you just can't hunt with one.

Yes if thats all a man had and needed to eat some meat. A .22 would do just fine though and be alot cheaper.
