Small Camouflage Tent....

Does anyone make a small, lightweight, waterproof, camouflage tent? I'm putting together a bug-out-bag, or bags, and think that a small camo tent that would fit the wife and me would be a good thing to have. I looked around online, and only found 5-6 person camo tents.....
 
Agreed, Military style puptent would be good.

That's what I have in my B.O.B, The pup tent is small and light enough, and is multifunctional as well.

In my book, those are the two most important features to anything I put in my B.O.B; They gotta be light and multi-use.
 
Its all listed in the US manual, you snap them together with the snaps provided & reverse the necks to make a waterproof (read slightly damp) air vent so they don't get too humid when you sleep in them. The overlapping seams act like a shingle to redirect water away from the seam opening.
If you add a third & a poncho liner you've got a sleeping bag as well. In the military they used the kit from 2 soldiers to make the tent so everyone carried 1 half of a shelter, you can do the same thing if there are more than one of you needing a tent. Pegs can be made from small twigs with a crotch. Cut one end long, the other short & "clip" the liners to the ground with the long end in the dirt & the short one over the fabric. Para chord makes the poles & guys also.
 
Or you could use a standard pup tent and drape the ponchos over them as a fly.
I have a mil surplus pup tent that's a standard Army green. It would blend in OK during green season.
 
The hammocks will chill you a lot on a cold night, even with a good bag, trust me on this one! On the same night a tent was a lot warmer & a mat kept me off the ground for a slight weight/bulk penalty.
 
Not sure I'm fond of a camo tent for recreation.

I mean you dont hide from critters in tents. In mountainous areas, I like a bright tent. You can see them a long way away when working your way back to camp. In emergencies they are handy if someone is trying to find you.

But hey, there are all kinds of tents out there, every color you could want.

Up in Northern Arizona it is tall pines and gets damn cold with snow.
Up there I dig a hole and start a fire let it burn and cover it with dirt then sleep on it. Oh yea, that was 30 years ago, I'm in my 60s now.

Once on an elk hunt I parked my green pick-up in some trees during an Elk hunt. I went out that day and when I came back my truck was gone!
I knew where I was and knew my way out. I just didn’t want to lose my truck. Well I was just standing looking into the woods and their “it” was my truck. I spent two days looking for it and it was right in front of me. I walk by it several times and never saw it! I camped about 100 yards from it.
We did not buttons that made the horn honk back then for you young guys.
"I won the Darby award for land navigation when I was in the Rangers too."
But not this time I couldn’t see it sitting in front of me.

Me neither. I almost had some bright spark back over my tent with a truck once.:eek::rolleyes: Now I only use bright da-glow colors for "camping".

As you say though there may be other things to consider.
