I was Channel surfing the other day and stumbled across Sly Stallone on Rosie O'donnell show.... promoting his latest film :(

As i watched here was Mr. Stallone venting about all the gratuitous violence in movies and on T.V. and how he was glad some of Hollywoods "finest" were finally doing something about curbing it and saving your children in the process, after congress forced them to do something about it or else!

Stallone stated violence for the sake of it in movies was "bad" but if it was done with defeating evil or had something to to with the plot of the movie in that context it was "ok".

What a hypocrite! this person has proably killed more people on film [for kicks and giggles] than all others combined with the goal of making himself rich, period..... Then there's Rosie, sucking up to him like the little Lap Dog she is; with anyone who will help espouse her views on guns and Gun control.

Those two's sh!t = are real ill...

If you are not happy with Stallone, don't buy tickets for his films. Possibly an orgainized boycott of theatres showing them might be dooable too.

Not many people buy tickets for his films anymore. Probably because the movies aren't very good. I don't think he'll be around much longer.

Stallone's best role was a cameo in an old Woody Allen movie. Might have been "Bananas."
Stallone played a Flatbush-style greaser who just stared at Woody Allen on a bus. Never said a word. And his career has been downhill ever since.

BTW, doesn't he have a shooting range in his basement?

His remake of "Get Carter" is sucking wind in teh DC area (not that that means much, we ain't known for good taste around hereabouts. M2

Stallone used to shoot at the Firing Line Indoor range in Northridge, CA. Later, he moved over to the Beverly Hills Gun Club range. He was quite pro-gun at the time. (Late 70's)

I just love these celebrity types who get rich & famous via "movies with lots of guns" and who then turn anti-RKBA---
They are beneath contempt...

A few years ago Stallone said the answer to America's crime problems was for LEOs to go door-to-door and confiscate civilian firearms.

I have no problem boycotting Sly's films. He only has done a few I liked anyway (first "Rocky," "First Blood," "Nighthawks," "Death Race 2000"). Luckily, movie fans have pro-RKBA actors like Gibson and Willis, who can do action as well as serious acting.

If anyone wants to send a letter to the editor that Stallone or any other anti-gun actor would probably read - here is the newspaper to do it in

I think it is very hypocritical to make money in movies with guns as the main prop and then dissing honest gun owners afterwards.

Just the other day I saw a movie with one of the Baldwin boys shooting up a scene. If these people had to rely on their acting ability to make a living without guns - they would probably have to move out of Beverly Hills and get a trailer home in Riverside somewhere (assuming the good people of Riverside would want them as neighbors.

As far as acting goes, Old Mumbles stinks! He got lucky with Rocky and First Blood. 2nd worst movie I ever watched "half of" was Cobra. I couldn't listen to more than maybe a half an hour of Mumbles monotone dialog before I changed the channel. The guy stinks!

hemlock I think you are referring to an article written by a Brit. Turned out that Sly never said that. Apparently the reporter needed to add a bit of controversy to Sly's interview.
