slugs thru barrel with rib?

As stated above the rib has zero to do with a guns ability to shoot slugs. The 28" barrels usually have some type of choke in them.

Does the gun have screw in chokes? If so Mod or more open is usually what slugs like. If it doesnt have screw ins what is the barrel marked?

I would avoid shooting full power slugs outta a full choked gun.
 
Good to go then ....

I have run a Mod tube in my Benilli for years and hundreds of slug loads.

Pattern it with Buck at different distances from 5-35 yds so you know what is happening downrange with buck. Then shoot slugs out to 100 so you know where it hits with them
