Slow burning powder question

Hey guys I'll be loading for 25-06 and 257 weatherby mag and both need slow burning powder and I was wanting some input on what are some good ones on said cartridges and is there one that will excel in both or would it be better to use a specific one in each caliber. Thanks

Anything on the slow side will work.

I'd start with comparing H4350, H4831, and IMR728SSC data for the bullets you intend to use in the two cartridges.

I had good results with (IMR) 4831 and 4350 using 117gr Sierra BT Game Kings and 85gr Nosler ballistic tips. I've found most of my accuracy loads in the lower/middle range out of my rifle.

Since you didn't tell us what weight bullets you will be shooting it's a rather moot discussion.

For bullets in the 85-90 grain weight class I favor H4831.

For bullets 100 grains and heavier I favor Retumbo. A fantastic combination in my Ruger #1V in 25-06 is the Nosler 115 grain Ballistic Tip bullet with a near max charge of Retumbo. Accurate and deadly on deer.

They're kind of hard to find but round nose bullets in the 25-06 are the best for hunting ... IMO.
