I learned about this lube/cleaner/protectant on another BB,and was able to obtain a sample. One claim the maker has for this product is that when left on for 24 hours, it forms a protective surface and reduces fouling from lead, plastic, and powder remnants. Unlike most promos, this seems to be true.
Using it on the 870 TB found the bore getting clean with very little effort.Grunge buildup may be lessened also, but my reloads are pretty clean burning.
Last week I called up and ordered a larger bottle of the stuff, since I'm low on Hoppe's and CLP. After mentioning this BB, the guy from SLIP sent me the bottle I ordered, a few more little 1 oz sample bottles, and a large jar of their "Gas Piston and Parts Cleaner" to try out. One dunks the parts in the cleaner, waits 15 minutes, and drys them off, relubing with SLIP 2000.I've some dirty choke tubes and will let you know how well it works. The Geezer Squad can field test the samples.
As for the SLIP, it's NOT petroleum based, smells better than Hoppe's to those who don't grow up with it, is biodegradeable, and does the job.
The Website is: www.gunlube.com. Samples are free, tho there's a small S&H fee.
In case you're wondering, I have no commercial connection with the company other than retail purchase and have received no wages or gratuities from them.
