Sling Swivel DRAMA

i bought a new rifle a couple months ago and got all the accessories... i bought the quick detatchable style sling swivels for $30 which is a hell of alot for swivels i thought, i think it was a shooters ridge brand but i cant be sure as i chucked out the packet, the gunsmith said they were the best of the best. but anyway the pins fell out of the swivels! best of the best??? my gun fell on the ground and scratched my $1400 scope =(. i checked the other sling swivel and it was about to fall out too!! I rang the gunsmith and told him about this and wanted new ones for free.. but he said they had no warranty offer so i'd have to pay for a new set.... i cant believe he wanted me to pay for another set when i just spent over $4k in his gun shop a couple months ago, if i wasnt 600k away from the gunshop id go in the smack that guy one, what a tight bstrd. Anyway sorry for the rant maybe im overreacting but i dont think i am. Is this known to happen with this type of sling swivel? did i get a cheap brand and he ripped me off? and last but not least what kind of swivels should i get that wont fall apart, fast detatchable ones would be good but not necessary. Id prefer my gun to stay on my back, rather than fall down onto the dirt and rocks

To be honest Rocky, im not really sure. I think they were by shooters ridge but i may be wrong. they were the quick detatchable type. Still havent got new swivels for my gun using keyrings atm my faith in quick swivels has been shattered lol

I've used quite a few different sets of Uncle Mike's quick detachable swivels on slings on many different guns over the last 25 - 30 years and have never had a problem with the swivels or the slings. I've become less of a fan of the nylon slings as they tend to slide off the shoulder.
