Sling,Slang,Slung, I'm so confused!

I understand my garand sling perfectly, but I have never understood the sling that came with my colt hbar. For all its buckles, it seems to have very little adjustment. Do most ar shooters throw this p-o-junk away and get a better sling? Also, you aimpoint experts can help me. If I mount a ML2 forward, will I see the dot on the front blade or will I see the dot above the front sight? I'm refering to the mount that screws to the handle and puts the sight out in front. which carry handle mount are you getting?
i just bought the ARMS 39 & the 22M68

on a standard AR, the sling swivel on the front sight base is kinda attached to the barrel
if you crank that puppy with the left arm twist
you are going to significantly change the Point of impact

you need a freefloated front end to use a real sling effectively

another AR sling oddity is those non QD swivels
if you split the upper off to clean the rifle, the sling ropes both halves together

if i get my round tuit in gear i am going to construct QD swivels on my brush-hampster
