Sling for aim aid

I bought a sling for an aim aid on my Savage II 22LR. It's a 2 point hasty sling. The sling, even when tightened all the way down is too long to provide tension against the gun when I'm aiming. Is there a good way to shorten the sling and still keep it adjustable?

When I shoot with a sling I wrap it around my forearm to shorten the sling without adjusting anything else.

I adjust my sling so when I shoot, my support arm wraps it in a way that pulls it tight. once at the length I need, no further adjustment is made.

1907 style sling in the standard military configuration, has reduced my standing off hand groups by almost 50% in most cases; from 5"-6" @ 100 to 2-1/2" to 3-1/2",
I can reduce them slightly more in a sitting or kneeling (my favorite) position. just like the pics above!
