KPS,

Have you tried any auction sites?

www.auctionarms.com
www.gunbroker.com
even ebay might have something.

Also, you might want to try www.tommygunshop.com
This is owned by Kahr. They now own the Auto-Ordnance stuff and are making what seem to be very good quality 1911's. If you go to parts section, they sell a slide for $109. I believe all of their 1911'a are 70's series. (If you're not looking for a colt specifically).

btw, last weekend I worked around the house with my suspender back support belt (Home Depot type) with my K40 tucked in to one of the tension belts, very comfortable. I think I'll take your advise and go with one of Gunslingers belly bands.

check in Shotgun News I saw some brand new ones in there a few months back, I think it was CDNN selling them.

What has worked for me in the past is to ask a gunsmith who has been in business a while.......and they generally have a few topends laying around.......I have 5 waiting to be built that didnt cost over $50 a slide, and there in various stages of "complete" they all came with barrel's, some will have the internals, and some have one sight but not the other........that sort of thing......I havent priced any in a while and they were bought from friends....make some contacts in the shooting community in your area.....it always helps.....fubsy.

Thanks guys.I'll start looking at your links.

Hoppy, you'll like the Gunslinger band.Good luck with it.
