slides inter-changeable?

I would like to put the slide/barrel/link (whole top end) of my 45 Colt Commander on my Colt Officer 45, both are series 80. Can I safely do this? Any fitting required?

Skeeter, the only fitting that might come into play is the chamber mouth to feed ramp relationship. With the slide off the pistol. Install the barrel and slide stop. Push the barrel down and all the to the rear. There should be 1/32" of the frame visible between the bottom of the mouth and the top of the ramp. If there is too much or too little I recommend that you take it to a smith for fitting unless you have experience in doing this yourself. George

skeeter, I do this mod' swap alot, you just have to watch the fd/rmp lead, the ejector, the srs 80 fp stop plunger, just because the brl/link config. works in one frame does not mean that it will work in another,If you decide to do this on your own and get stuck e-mail me and I will give you my shop or home # and will try to talk you through it.Good luck!SC
